How long is the average ceremony?
While every ceremony is unique and different, the average is about 20-30 minutes.
Can we write our own vows and have our love story included in the ceremony?
Of course! I encourage my couples to tell their story and help me personalize the ceremony.
Do you automatically stay for the reception?
No, I would never invite myself to anyone's wedding. However, if a couple invites me and my schedule permits my wife or assistant and I would love to attend.
Where can we get married?
I am a Wedding Officiant so It is legal for me to marry a couple anyplace in NJ: a beach, a backyard, your living room, a park, a church, a banquet hall, my office, etc.
What do you wear to perform the ceremony?
I have two options for couples to choose from. Option #1 is a white clergy robe. Option #2 is a suit with or without a stole. Both options can been seen in this website's Photo Gallery.
My partner and/or I have been married before. Is that a problem?
Not at all. As long as you have a valid divorce and can obtain a marriage license, you can get married.
We don't want a reception or big party. We just want to make it legal. Can you do that?
Yes, I have an elopement package available on weekdays that takes place in my office with two witnesses for the sole purpose of "making it legal".
I/we have children and we would like them to be included in the ceremony. Can we do that?
Absolutely! I have quite a few different options to include and honor your children.
Do you require Pre-Marital counseling?
No. I am a certified Pre-Marital Counselor and offer a great program, but it's not required.
Do you attend the rehearsal?
A day-of rehearsal is included in the Deluxe Ceremony Package. Most venues are not doing a separate day rehearsal anymore as it is usually very quick and can be done before the guests arrive. But, depending on my availability, I can attend a separate day rehearsal for a small fee.
How far in advance should we book you for our ceremony?
There is no easy answer to this question. I have some weddings booked a year and a half in advance. At the same time, I have had a couple call 3 weeks in advance and, luckily, I happened to have the date open. I perform approximately 100 weddings per year so, I would advise booking your date as far in advance as you can.
Will our guests be able to hear us?
For small to medium venues I have a portable sound system that is available. Larger venues normally have a sound system or the DJ would provide a microphone. This is an often over looked question!
